As a writer and full-time, active Keys resident in the 1990's, I regularly published theater reviews and feature articles in regional magazines, including interviews with famous writers such as Kurt Vonnegut, Nancy Friday, Wendy Wasserman, and JoAnne Akalaitis. I couldn't return to Key West without a book in my back pocket. My husband and I also enjoy a part-time residence in Orting, WA, a small town southeast of Seattle. I am currently a resident of Wilmington, North Carolina, with plans to resume part-time residence in Key West this October. The publisher is BookLocker, an independent firm in Bradenton, Florida. My debut novel is the first in a paranormal romantic suspense trilogy. And, I promise, for those who knew me as a Key West writer, the story contains Key West flourishes. The main character is an up-and-coming San Francisco architect. The setting is a small Wyoming village, with local color inspired by my husband, a native. This month I published my first novel, a three-year labor of love: "Home Schooling: The Fire Night Ball." The time is the late 1970's, a period of cultural upheaval. I'm an Ohioan by birth, with ties to Florida, California, Seattle, and North Carolina.
